Chapter- A-Day Reading Plan
What if you read a chapter out of your Bible every day? You could read your entire Bible in 3 years, 3 months and 3 days!
Here are a few of the benefits of reading your Bible one chapter at a time:
1. It takes approximately 5 minutes to read one chapter of the Bible.
2. While it will take longer to read through the entire Bible, it also gives you more time to seek to understand what you have read. It also gives you time to meditate, reflect and pray about what you read.
3. Reading one chapter a day is easier to stay on track with the plan, and if you get behind on the plan, it's easier to catch up.
The plan is here to give you some direction and motivation.
Remember-- the whole point is to open your Bible and get into it!
What if something is confusing or doesn't make sense? Reach out! Pastor Rory would love to discuss it with you.
Remember, some passages in the Bible were included as a historical record. There are many stories in the Bible that are descriptive, not prescriptive. In other words, there are stories about what not to do, or examples of times when people got it wrong. In fact, there are lots of examples of people messing up, getting things wrong and going their own way. We often see ourselves in the characters of the Bible, we can relate to their thoughts and choices.
The overreaching, big picture truth of the Bible is that God always loves, and never gives up on people. Often there are repercussions of bad decisions that play out in the lives of the people who got off track. However, no matter what people did, or how far they wandered off, people could derail God's plan to send His Son, Jesus to save us. The love and care of God endured.
So, Buckle- up Buttercup! It's time to dive into the Bible!
If you start to feel overwhelmed, don't freak out, ask for help!
